Did you experience 'Blue Monday'?
Blue Monday rolls around every year on the third Monday in January. The meaning of this day is filled with controversy because it is supposedly the saddest day of the year. Did you feel sad or were you perfectly happy until you heard repeatedly on the media it was Blue Monday and you're supposed to be feeling down.
I am always telling my coaching clients to be careful of the influences they are exposed to each day, because they do have an impact. It takes a lot of self awareness and self confidence in yourself to withstand the constant bombardment of negative messages that comes from the media which is selling a message of you are not good enough, but if you buy our product you will be better.
Did you know the concept of 'Blue Monday' was actually started as a marketing ploy to get you to book holidays, targeting people when they were feeling low after the festive fun was over and therefore needed something to look forward to?
Myself, Suzy Beaumont, Personal Development Consultant and Founder of Change Your World, and Kamalyn Kaur Psychotherapist and Mindset Coach were interviewed on BBC Radio Scotland with Kaye Adams this week to talk about this and all things wellbeing in our weekly 'Winter Wellness' feature that will be running every Monday until March.
